Boost your morning coffee

If you haven’t already heard about bulletproof coffee, it’s about time. This revolution in preparing our everyday magic potion has raised coffee to a whole another level, making it even more powerful and an inevitable part of our morning routine. This recipe was found and formulated by Dave Asprey, an entrepreneur and a businessman from Albuquerque, New Mexico. During his visit to Tibet, Dave has discovered something that completely changed his life. It was a yak butter tea. After his return to America, Dave tried implementing the key ingredients in his coffee. He experimented with blending coffee with healthy fats and finally gotten to his recipe and called it Bulletproof coffee. The main ingredients are healthy saturated fats like grass-fed butter and MCT oil.

What is MCT oil?

MCT stands for medium-chain triglycerides and it is one of the best bioavailable forms of energy. They are saturated fatty acid compounds, which are efficiently digested and sent directly to the liver. In the liver, they are instantly converted from fat into heat, boosting metabolic processes and supporting a healthy cardiovascular system.

MCT is an ideal energy source with super quick absorption characteristics. It can be extracted from coconut or palm oil.

People make a common mistake of thinking they can use coconut oil instead of MCT. However, coconut oil has just 55% MCT, while pure MCT oil is 100% MCT. Beware of that fact if you plan on implementing this into your everyday routine, or you simply wish to try it.

MCT has multiple health benefits:

-helps maintain healthy body weight

-lowers the levels of body fat, due to its metabolisms boost effect

-increases levels of energy

-improves digestion

-establishes healthy hormone balance

-fights against viruses, bacteria and fungus infections

-puts you in a better mood

-improves the brain function

One of the most desirable MCT effects is actually metabolism boosts and weight loss. Since MCT consists of medium-chain triglycerides, replacing long-chain fatty acids with MCT can induce weight loss without affecting your healthy lipid profile.

MCT has also been related to the improvement of gut health and reduction of inflammation. They consist the natural antibiotics capable of fighting off harmful bacteria in our guts. They help in preserving the healthy balance of our intestines by creating an optimal pH. Healthier gut, of course, means healthier digestion and better overall state of the organism.

100% MTC oil is available for purchase, also in the form of powder. You can find the traces of MCT oil in olive oil, cheese, whole milk and full-fat yoghurt, but in drastically smaller doses. Having 100% MCT will ensure you that you have ingested amount enough to influence your body function and weight loss.

Why grass-fed butter?

It has been shown that grass-fed butter is healthier and richer in healthy fatty acids than the butter made from the milk of animals that were eating artificial food. Grass-fed cows are overall healthier and happier, and the butter produced out of their milk is much healthier too. Finding this butter can be a bit of a challenge nowadays. You can try some organic shops or hand-made butter stores. The price can be higher, but there’s no question about quality.

Bulletproof coffee

Starting your morning with a perfect combination of caffeine and healthy fats will change the course of your day completely. Along with the balanced diet, this magical potion is everything you need for the most productive day ever. It sounds almost too good to be true, but there’s no reason to be sceptical. All the ingredients are 100% natural, which makes this harmless, hence even more wonderful.

The Recipe

All you need for mixing this amazing cup of coffee is:

2 cups freshly brewed hot coffee

2 tablespoons grass-fed butter

1 scoop coconut derived MCT Oil

1 teaspoon Ceylon cinnamon

Preparation:

Put all of the ingredients in a blender. Blend it on low, bringing the speed up to high for 30 seconds until you reach the smooth texture. Your bulletproof coffee is done!

Optional ingredients you can add to spice things up are all sorts of aromatic oils, like vanilla or lavender oil, depending on your taste. Adding maca powder can make your coffee richer in taste and more balanced in nutrients. If you like your coffee sweet, opt for some natural sweeteners like stevia. It would be a shame if you went through all of this trouble of providing healthy natural ingredients and ruining it all with some artificial sweetener. If you want the taste of a butter to really stand out, add just a pinch of Himalayan pink salt or a sea salt. It will sharpen the tastes and give your coffee another dimension.

If you make a decision of switching to this super healthy coffee option every morning, you will not regret it. It will make your stomach feel full for more hours than any meal and a regular coffee combined. This, of course, doesn’t mean you can skip meals and have the coffee instead. It only means you will feel less hungry than with your usual breakfast while ingesting healthy fats and boosting your metabolism at the same time. Having more energy is a certain plus, so if you are having some second thoughts, or you are just not a believer, try it on your own. You will feel the wonder of MCT, grass-fed-butter coffee at the first sip.
