Teddy lived for just 100 minutes after his birth, but he made a profound impact in such a short time and today he has been dubbed a hero.
Teddy’s mum Jess was pregnant with twins, sadly during her 12 week scan she was told that one of the twins was suffering from a fatal condition which stops the brain and skull developing.
As a result of this devastating abnormality, Jess and her fiancé Mike Houlston were told that it was likely their little boy would be stillborn or die shortly after birth.
Little Teddy did slip away less than two hours after he was delivered alongside his brother Noah.
Although only with his family a devastatingly short period of time, baby Teddy had a profound effect on those around him and became Britain’s youngest organ donor after his kidneys were used to save the life of a patient in renal failure.
His Mum Jess says “Although he wasn’t with us very long, and we brought him into the world knowing there was no hope of a life for him, we are incredibly proud of his heroism.”
Paying tribute to this little boy, Mike said: “He lived and died a hero. It’s impossible to explain how proud we are of him.”
