A huge nightlife complex – Kunstpark Nord in Fröttmaning –is due to be completed near Allianz Arena in 2009.


  1. The Atomic Café

    With
    its bright orange 1960s decor, the Atomic has been a popular club for
    years. You’ll find a broad spectrum of live music here, from Brit pop,
    indie, and hip-hop, to rock and soul.

  2. Pacha

    Formerly
    the renowned Nachtcafé, Pacha offers the complete spectrum of house
    music and top DJs. Its large terrace makes it one of the most beautiful
    clubs in the city.

  3. Zerwirk

    Built
    in 1264 as a bathhouse, this building (the second-oldest in Munich) has
    been a falcon house, a brewery and a theatre. It is now a vegan
    restaurant, a literary salon and a club. It is currently very popular
    with the trendy Glockenbach crowd.

  4. Volksgarten Club & Garden

    The
    name gives it away: this club has a large garden with palm trees, water
    and a sand beach that makes it a popular choice in the summer. Come for
    Friday’s black beat and house night (“Das Volksbegehren”) or Saturday’s
    “Die Macht der Nacht”.

  5. Muffathalle

    A
    former heating plant, this large hall opens only for scheduled events
    such as concerts, theatre, dance performances, and readings. The café is
    open daily except Sundays. This is one of the most beautiful venues in
    the city, located right behind the Müller’sche Volksbad, and has a
    lovely beer garden that beckons in summer.

    Hangout
    of FC Bayern football club players and other celebrities, with a
    reputation that reaches far beyond Munich. Extremely strict doormen are
    infamous for refusing entry to “ordinary folk.” On weekdays, P1 feels
    like a lounge rather than a nightclub.

  7. Night-Club (Bayerischer Hof)

    With live jazz, funk, and soul, this is a club where music lovers can experience the real thing.

  8. Club Morizz

    One of Munich’s chicest meeting places for the gay community, but equally popular with other partygoers .

  9. Kultfabrik München

    The Kultfabrik (cult factory), is a vast entertainment district, with over 20 bars, clubs and discos.

  10. Optimolwerke

    With 13 discos, clubs, and a Spiegelzelt (mirrored tent), the Optimolwerke complex is located next door to the Kultfabrik.
