In a heartbeat…
Our parents and grandparents stayed together simply because they didnt have 7000 other people following them or liking their pictures at their disposal when their marriage or relationship got hard.
Nowadays when our relationship hits the rocks we can just log in and get high of this false sense of security and appreciation. We value our worth based on comments and inbox messages filled with colourful words that have no depth.
Meanwhile, the person who loves you when there is no filter on your face, the person who sees you at your worst, the person who picks you up off the floor over and over again, the person who loves you for being just you, the person who loves you even when you have nothing to give them but the heart beating in your chest becomes an option, and the rest of the world who just sees your representative, you false image, the “perfect” you becomes your priority.
You wake up in a morning and instead of kissing the sleeping face beside you, you check your phone to see what the rest of the world is doing. You forget that the people in your presence choose to be around you, they would rather be with you than doing anything else with their time.
Value those people in your life. The people that actually matter.
Life can be taken in an instant, so take your eyes off the screen and instead look at who you have in your life, value them, appreciate them.
Don’t ever lose what is real chasing behind what only appears to be.
