Madelyn Cline, star of the hit Netflix series Outer Banks and the suspenseful Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, chose an unconventional approach to defuse tensions between her and her co-star.

The new season of the hit Netflix drama features Madelyn in the role of Sarah Cameron (February 23).
She and her on-screen boyfriend Topper Thornton, played by Austin North, are now good friends, but she had to come up with a cunning method to make them feel comfortable during their first meeting and the subsequent steamy sex scene.
Madelyn Cline and her co-star farted cheekily to lighten the mood during filming of a sexual scene on the Outer Banks.
This was not an attempt at levity to reduce stress.
Her Vogue interview speaks for itself, it seems: “Before Outer Banks, I’d never really had any sex scenes, or implicated sex scenes I guess would be the more appropriate term.”
“So I was really nervous about that. There’s nothing sexy about it, and it is a little bit awkward.”
Madelyn recalled the first season episode where Austin was the victim of a shooting.
Madelyn, at the age of 25 at the time, played Whiskey in the 2022 murder mystery “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery,” which also starred Daniel Craig and Edward Norton.
And, she continued, “We didn’t really know each other that well at that point,” she said, adding: “[And] we hadn’t really spent too much time hanging out yet.”
The independent crime thriller What Breaks the Ice, starring the blonde bombshell, will hit theaters in 2020.
Yes, she broke the ice in a daring way.
“We were sitting in the green room, Austin and I, twiddling our thumbs and trying to make conversation. I could tell that he was nervous, and I knew he could tell I was nervous. So, I just farted in front of him.”
They had an awkward first few seconds together, but then they both started laughing and became fast friends.
Madelyn was required to act out a sexually charged scene with Edward Norton in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
In the film, she plays Whisky, who has an affair with Edward Norton’s character, Miles Bron, while her lover, played by former WWE star Dave Bautista, is none the wiser.
She felt more “comfortable” because she was an experienced pro.
“It’s important to be open and honest about what you’re comfortable with, not just with yourself but with your onscreen partner,” she told Glamour.
“And that’s exactly what happened. Everybody was very respectful and gave us our space.”
