After the announcement that Margot Robbie’s “real life twin,” Sex Education’s Emma Mackey, will co-star as another Barbie, fans are bound to have a good time.
Barbie 2023: Fans went wild when Margot Robbie’s “real life twin” joined with her
The colorful cast of Greta Gerwin’s Barbie, which will return to theaters on July 21, 2023, was previewed on Tuesday (4 April).
Margot plays the lead role, and Ryan Gosling will play her on-screen love interest, Ken.
But, they are not the only examples of the Barbie and Ken dolls in the film.
The news that “doppelganger” Emma Mackey will star alongside Margot as another Barbie has sent fans into a frenzy.
In 2019, the stunning newcomer from Sex Education emerged, and many noted the striking likeness to the Wolf of Wall Street babe.
But, the film’s Twitter also announced that in addition to Emma, there would be a staggering eleven Barbies and six Ken dolls in the film.
‘I’m thrilled for them, especially Emma Mackey,’ tweeted one fan. ‘Seeing her interact with her real-life twin, Margot Robbie, should be a hoot.’
Someone else chimed in, “Margot Robbie and Emma Mackey in the same movie as Barbie.” I’d hoped for this moment all my life.
Thirdly, “Margot Robbie and Emma Mackey in a film together that is going to establish they are not actually the same person” was written.
Others pointed out that Mackey had brown hair to help differentiate between the two.
All over social media you may see posters featuring various iterations of the characters.
Barbies played by Issa Rae (president Barbie), Kate McKinnon (gymnast Barbie), Nicola Coughlan (diplomat Barbie), Alexandra Shipp (writer Barbie).
The remaining six stars: Ritu Arya (journalist Barbie), Hari Nef (doctor Barbie), Emma Mackey (physicist Barbie), Dua Lipa (mermaid Barbie), Ana Cruz Kayne (judge Barbie), and Sharon Rooney (lawyer Barbie).
Along with Ryan Gosling’s Ken, other actors who have been called “another Ken” include Ncuti Gatwa, Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Scott Evans.
There’s even a “Alan” who’ll be portrayed by Michael Cera of “Superbad” fame.

In addition to introducing Helen Mirren as the narrator, the posters include Will Ferrell in his debut appearance as a Mattel CEO.
Gerwin’s Barbie narrative has been kept under wraps, but when photos of Margot and Ryan filming on Venice Beach, word of the highly awaited film spread like wildfire.
The stunning blonde revealed to Jimmy Fallon: “I can’t tell you how mortified we were, by the way.
“We look like we’re laughing and having fun, but we’re dying on the inside. Dying. I was like, this is the most humiliating moment of my life.”
