In the 50 Shades of Grey film series, Dakota Johnson portrayed Anastasia Steele, a virgin who signs a domination and submission contract with a billionaire.
For her bondage scenes in “Fifty Shades of Grey,” Dakota Johnson said she needed “serious psychological preparation”
The actress portrayed Anastasia Steele, the naive young woman who falls for Christian Grey, the wealthy business expert, and eventually submits to him in bed.
The series contains some racy material, such as the spanking that reduced Ana to tears.
Even though Dakota was largely reliant on a stand-in, she still had to practice her lines before filming.
She told Entertainment Today, “I mean, there is a lot more of my body that’s shown than Jamie [Dornan’s] actually. She was discussing her involvement in 50 Shades Freed.
“I really had to get ready for it each time and know exactly what we were going to do and how we were going to accomplish shooting the scenes, the more intimate ones.”
“Over the course of the three films, it never got easier. It wasn’t like, ‘Oh, this old thing’, you know?”
The actress claimed that she had tried to “negotiate” on a few details, such as the amount of clothing she was required to wear, but that she “knows what she signed up for.”
“It’s not like they are forcing me to take off my clothes. I choose to do these jobs” she said. “” I’m willingly putting in this work.
Dakota told Marie Clair that the moment in the Red Room where she was blindfolded was the most difficult for her to get through.
She said, “The most difficult [scene] by far […] was a sex scene in the third film where I was handcuffed with my arms and legs to the gate. It’s like a fence thing that comes down. And I was blindfolded.”
“I didn’t realise that no matter how prepared or rehearsed I was, when your senses are taken away like that, you can’t control the way your nervous system will react.”
When filming, Dakota wore an invisible thong that was “superglued” to her bits to protect her modesty, and Jamie hid his privates in a penis bag.
Worse still, Dakota’s pubic hair was digitally created using CGI long after filming had wrapped.
When the movie first came out, cinematographer Seamus McGarvey said, “[Dakota] had kind of a patch that went over her pubic area, and right round her whole body.”
“We were in the curious situation, in post-production, of adding [pubic hair].” He told the New York Times,I wouldn’t say it was one of the highlights of my career, but it certainly was one of the most surreal scenarios.”
