If they finished in second place, they would have a significant advantage over the Boston Celtics in game seven of the second round of the playoffs because they would be hosting the game.

Meanwhile, Tyrese Maxey scored 31 points (12-18 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT) with two boards, seven dimes, and a steal in 35 minutes of action.
Despite a subpar showing in Friday’s win over Charlotte, Maxey got the nod for a tenth consecutive game at the beginning of Saturday’s matchup.
The 76ers’ fortunes changed after he scored 31 points to tie Joel Embiid for the game high and give him his sixth 30-point game of the season.
Now that the playoff race is heating up, Philadelphia is only one game behind the Celtics for second place in the Eastern Conference. Maxey will need to play a significant role in each of the 76ers’ four upcoming games next week if they are to have any chance of clinching home-court advantage through at least the first two rounds of the playoffs.
