As NBA All-Star Weekend approaches, the Milwaukee Bucks have won 12 consecutive games. While they did manage to beat the Chicago Bulls recently, they did so at a price when Eastern Conference captain Giannis Antetokounmpo suffered a sprained right wrist, he had to leave the game and didn’t come back.

Earlier in the game, He had already surpassed Paul Pressey earlier in the game to become the Bucks’ all-time leader in assists.

Wojnarowski reports that Giannis will make every effort to participate in All-Star Weekend.

NBA insider Adrian “Woj” Wojnarowski spoke about Giannis’ injury and its potential impact on his NBA All-Star plans yesterday on ESPN. Giannis coached the celebrity game last night and will be playing in tonight’s Skills Challenge. Naturally, he also received votes for the All-Star team’s starting lineup.

“He’s in some pain. This was a painful injury. He wants to play in that All-Star game on Sunday. It is important to him as a captain and as someone who takes the responsibility really seriously. He’s going to get it looked at again today [Friday] I’m told. You know, obviously got another 24 hours through Saturday and then the game on Sunday,

“But his intention is to try to find a way to play. The one thing you know about Giannis Antetokounmpo is that he has an amazing ability to come back quicker from injuries than almost anybody else. You see it during the season during routine times. Of course, you remember that during Finals, coming out of the Atlanta series, you thought he’d be out 4-6 weeks. He went onto win MVP of the Finals.”

Giannis made an expected appearance last night as a coach for Team Dwayne in the NBA Celebrity Game. Many of his siblings shared his career as a coach. Giannis, interestingly, was not using any sort of brace on his wrist.

His participation in tonight’s Skills Challenge is a major factor in determining whether or not he will be selected to play in the actual All-Star Game.
