A six-week-old baby in Connecticut has died after contracting coronavirus in what is one of the youngest deaths attributed to the virus.
The newborn baby from the Hartford area was unresponsive upon arriving at the hospital and tested positive for the deadly disease after passing away. The baby is believed to one of the youngest victims of the illness in the United States.
The governor also said that the infant had tested positive for COVID-19.
“This is a virus that attacks our most fragile without mercy,”
“This also stresses the importance of staying home and limiting exposure to other people.”
“Your life and the lives of others could literally depend on it. Our prayers are with the family at this difficult time.”
So far in the United States more than 200,000 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed, resulting in over 5,000 deaths. Those figures are expected to rise in the coming weeks.
