A recent tragedy has come in the form of 36-year-old mother of four, Alli MacDonnell, being found dead only hours after posting a very cryptic Facebook message.

“Why is it ok for a man to call a girl a fat ugly c**t??????” she posted to her page this weekend. “Seriously new level of pushing someone to the edge.”

MacDonnell was both a model and regular guest on the TV show, Ireland AM. She was discovered deceased Sunday, February 3, 2019. There is no clear connection yet whether or not the Facebook post was related to her death, however, the police are ruling the case suspicious. Detectives have confirmed they will be investigating all people who were in contact with MacDonnell prior to her passing.

On social media the tributes and expressions of total shock flooded in for Alli, many people left reeling by the sudden loss.

“Stunned and speechless, I’m so sad to hear this news, we shared great times,” wrote one friend. “We’d lost touch so I don’t know how she was in her life recently. Sending deepest sympathy to all her family and friends. May she rest peacefully.”

Another said, “Rest In Peace stunning beautiful Alli you will always be remembered for your beauty inside and out.”

Meanwhile, John Compton, a close friend of Alli’s revealed that he had spoken with her on the tragic day and she seemed to be looking forward to a lot of things in her coming future.
He released the following statement: “We are all beyond devastated. I spoke to Alli yesterday. We would speak nearly every day and we just can’t comprehend what has happened. I got the call around from her sisters. We will never get over this. She had so much to live for. She was an amazing mum and a fantastic campaigner for autism. She did such good work. She was in talks with TV producers to do two new shows, one is a show about autism and the other one was a pranking show.”

MacDonnell was well-known for being an advocate surrounding autism, as her youngest children have the condition.

The CEO of Autism Ireland, Samantha Judge, has been quoted describing MacDonnell as an “amazing mother” who worked hard to bring awareness to the cause.

“Here at Autism Ireland, we are very shocked and saddened at the loss of Alli,” Judge said.

She added, “Alli was an amazing mother, a beautiful woman, inside and out. She was a very strong voice for autism as a mother, and she was so supportive of her children and of the charity. She will be a great loss to us. Alli worked tirelessly to raise awareness of autism. She was a great friend and an amazing ambassador for Autism Ireland. We could call her and ask for her help at any time and she worked with us whenever we needed her. She was truly an inspirational person and we are all grieving a huge loss today.”

The identity of the person who made the rude comments about MacDonnell has not been revealed, nor has it been made clear if this person might have done anything else that contributed to Alli’s death.

It is a great tragedy. Share if you hope people will learn to be kinder to one another, both online and off.
