A video showing a mother’s quick reflexes to save her child has gone viral.

The footage, which has been shared globally, appears to have first surfaced on Reddit. User @ProbablyNotMyBaby posted the CCTV footage, captioning it “The mother of reflex saves!”

Appearing to take place in an apartment building, a mother and small child can be seen getting out of an elevator before walking into the hall. The small child then walks towards the stairs banister, before slipping through the gap between the railings.

Miraculously, the mother’s reflexes were so fast that she managed to catch her child be the leg. Other people in the building immediately run to her aid and they manage to pull the toddler to safety.

One person even starts to clap for the mother, obviously in complete shock and amazement at what they just witnessed.

Many people have commented on the safety standards of the building.

One person writes “Normally I am not a litigious person and can’t stand slip and fall type “victims” looking for a payout, but not fixing a railing like that should be criminally and civilly negligent to the maximum extent of the law.”

Another said “Considering that there should be either glass or rails… this is a lawsuit waiting to happen.”
